Anniversary

This post isn’t about art, or maybe it is in 2 ways. I just wanted to say  that recently I celebrated my 3rd wedding anniversary. My wife is truly my muse. So the first art related part of the post is if anyone has noticed that my paintings and drawings all have a similar look. That similar look, that is my wife. I throw a little bit of my wife in every painting and that little bit is my wife’s nose. People often ask me why my girls have a similar nose and usually I never answer, but truthfully that’s my wife’s nose. She’s my inspiration, my favorite person to watch a movie with and the love of my life. We may have been married for only 3 years but we started dating a long time ago in high school. I wouldn’t advise anyone to marry anyone that they dated in high school because it usually doesn’t work out and it’s great to go out and experience life and grow as a person as well as meet and form relationships with varying types of people. I never thought we’d be together this long but for some unknown reason this relationship of ours has persisted and battled through and strangely enough we grew closer together over the years than further apart. Sure at times we annoy each other but we always give each other space. I go out with friends to drink and whatever and she does the same. The best part is whomever is out that evening, the other will be by to drive the other and all the friends home, a perfect designated driver. We’re a small team of two and hopefully one day that team will expand. So all that stupid junk being said, I love my wife and if it ends tomorrow, I enjoyed every minute of it. So here’s the second art related part of the post. The following picture from our wedding thank you card is a photoshopped image where my wife and I after getting married in Vegas went into the desert and took photos of each other and I later put it all together in the fantabulous program of photoshop. On a napkin from restaurant I sketched out the image I wanted and  we struck the pose’s that I had sketched. I wasn’t actually holding an umbrella, we weren’t next to each other and those  signs were nowhere around, and in real life those signs are gigantic. So anyone that wanted to see a new drawing today or a new painting, sorry, but I like most things, my wife comes first.
